Wine Documentary

We’ve been working for more than two years on a documentary project with Kegan Sims and Truen Pence called Vino Veritas, the story of winemakers who’ve found their way into the business following unusual paths.

We’ll be shooting aerial footage for this project this coming summer. The great thing about shooting a feature-length documentary is that you find yourself placed in any number or challenging situations. It’s a crash course in storytelling and filmmaking. Many of the solutions we discover work on commercial projects as well.



On the road with This American Land

Slipstream’s Justin Smith has worked with TAL on multiple episodes, using the same techniques and gear that we employ on commercial projects.

Relentless premiere

The documentary  Relentless, produced and directed by Slipstream’s Justin Smith for Oregon State University, debuted on March 2nd to a packed house. This 35-minute film follows a year in the lives of students on a championship formula racing team.

This documentary marks a new standard in brand storytelling, and a departure from traditional advertising. On the Web, users choose their content. When presented with such choice, users won’t choose traditional commercials. They won’t opt to read brochure copy. Brand content needs to be compelling. It needs to stand on its own as a story.
